A CATHOLIC WAY OF SEEING

Books waiting to be discovered in a sunlit library

Room for faith. And a little wonder.

Chesterton is an independent Catholic journal about receiving the world as a gift. We write about prayer and poetry, saints and supper tables, the questions that matter and the small things we miss.

The ordinary is never merely ordinary.

We believe the Catholic imagination makes more room for the world: for reason and mystery, beauty and suffering, feast days and ordinary Tuesdays. Our name is a nod to G. K. Chesterton and his delight in seeing familiar things afresh. This is a place for thoughtful reading, rooted in the sacramental life of the Church and offered in friendship. We publish in friendship: grateful for the wisdom of the Church, curious about the world, and hopeful about what grace can make of an ordinary day.
